Imprivata Partners with Google Cloud to Enable Single Sign-On Access to Chrome Devices

Press Releases Imprivata, MedTech, Telemedicine

New partnership integrates Single Sign-on technology with Chrome devices for a secure, mobile workstation solution

Lexington, MA – February 7, 2019 – Imprivata®, the healthcare IT security company, today announced that it is partnering with Google Cloud to enable Chrome devices to work seamlessly with Imprivata OneSign®, the leading single sign-on and virtual desktop access platform for healthcare, eliminating the need for healthcare practitioners to repeatedly type usernames and passwords.

With Imprivata, practitioners can simply tap a badge to access their Chrome workstation and get instant access to virtual desktop environments including Citrix and VMware. In addition, automatic sign-on to G Suite enables seamless access to office productivity and collaboration tools, and organizations benefit from faster boot times and multiple layers of security with Chrome OS.

“While Imprivata delivers fast, secure access to patient information, Google Cloud offers mobile solutions like Chrome Enterprise that let healthcare practitioners access workstations on the go,” said Wes Wright, Chief Technology Officer at Imprivata. “Working with Google Cloud, we’re able to give practitioners instant access to their virtual desktop environment, and allow patients to access entertainment and education on Chrome devices without risking exposure of protected health information (PHI).”

Imprivata OneSign delivers an end-to-end authentication and access management solution that brings together authentication, single sign-on, and virtual desktop roaming. With Imprivata OneSign, healthcare organizations can quickly and securely access patient information across every major EHR and clinical application. Imprivata OneSign also reduces the need for passwords, improves security, and supports HIPAA compliance requirements while saving providers an average of 45 minutes per shift, per day.
